The Department of Education’s implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar for School Year 2026–2027 continues to bring adjustments in classroom instruction, assessment, and learning preparation. To help teachers effectively monitor learners’ academic readiness, Diagnostic Tests for Key Stage 1 (Grades 1–3) are now available for free download. These ready-to-use materials are designed to support teachers in identifying the strengths and learning gaps of young learners at the beginning of the school term.
The downloadable diagnostic tests cover essential learning competencies aligned with the MATATAG Curriculum and the current DepEd standards for Key Stage 1. The materials aim to help teachers assess foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, comprehension, and other core learning areas. Through these assessments, educators can better understand the academic needs of their pupils and provide timely interventions and remediation activities when necessary.
With the shift to the Three-Term School Calendar, teachers are encouraged to maximize instructional time and ensure that assessments are aligned with quarterly learning targets.
