August 19, 2025 – The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued Memorandum DM-OUHROD-2025-2298 directing all Regional Offices (ROs) and Schools Division Offices (SDOs) to immediately process and release the medical allowance for qualified personnel.
The issuance follows the implementation of DepEd Order (DO) No. 16, s. 2025, otherwise known as the Guidelines on the Grant of Medical Allowance to DepEd Personnel. The policy was also affirmed during the National Management Committee meeting in Koronadal.
Payroll Disbursement and Deadline
According to the memorandum, the release of the medical allowance must be facilitated through payroll disbursement for eligible employees who have submitted the required Individual Availment Form (Annex A). DepEd emphasized that the allowance should be credited on or before August 31, 2025.
To avoid delays, ROs and SDOs are authorized to frontload available Personnel Services (PS) funds to cover the immediate release.
