San Mateo, Rizal — Special Non-Working Day
Under Proclamation No. 1424, s. 2026, September 21 has been declared a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of San Mateo, Rizal in celebration of its 454th Founding Anniversary. The proclamation was issued to give residents the opportunity to participate in and enjoy activities for the occasion.
Aguinaldo, Ifugao — Special Non-Working Day
September 21 is likewise a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Aguinaldo, Ifugao pursuant to Proclamation No. 1437, s. 2026. The municipality's Founding Anniversary falls on September 20, 2026, a Sunday, and the local government requested that the following Monday be declared a special non-working day to allow residents to fully participate in the celebration.
Manila — Face-to-Face Classes Suspended
Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has suspended face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools in the City of Manila on September 21.
The suspension coincides with the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law, with various commemorative activities and demonstrations expected in the capital. Authorities have prepared security and traffic measures for scheduled gatherings, including road closures and rerouting in portions of Manila.
Students, parents, teachers, workers, and residents are advised to take note that the announcements are localized and do not constitute a nationwide suspension. Schools in Manila should also be monitored for announcements regarding their specific learning arrangements during the suspension of in-person classes.
