Classes suspended in several areas due to heavy rains from LPA and southwest monsoon
On Friday, August 22, 2025, local government units announced the suspension of classes in multiple areas as heavy rains are expected due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon (habagat).
The following areas have declared class suspensions:
National Capital Region (NCR)

Muntinlupa City – All levels, public and private
Bicol Region

Albay – All levels, public and private

Castilla, Sorsogon – All levels, public and private
Laguna

Cabuyao City – All levels, public and private

Santa Rosa City – Pre-school to Senior High School, public schools only
Authorities reminded the public to remain alert to weather advisories and follow announcements from local government units and disaster response agencies. Residents are also advised to avoid flood-prone areas and prioritize family safety.
