DepEd Begins Release of FY 2026 Medical Allowance for Personnel

The Department of Education (DepEd) has officially initiated the release of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 medical allowance for its personnel, following the issuance of Memorandum DM-OUHROD-2026-0160 dated January 26, 2026.

The memorandum, released by the Office of the Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development and Infrastructure, directs all Regional Directors, Schools Division Superintendents, and concerned offices to immediately process the disbursement of the said allowance.

This directive aligns with the implementation of DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2025, which provides the framework for granting medical benefits to DepEd education personnel. Under these guidelines, both field offices and the Central Office are authorized to facilitate the release through payroll disbursement systems.

Personnel may access the allowance through two individual availment options, as specified in the order. The streamlined process aims to ensure that the benefit is released efficiently and received by eligible personnel before the end of the first quarter of FY 2026, subject to the availability of funds.

To further support timely implementation, Regional Offices and Schools Division Offices are allowed to frontload available Personnel Services funds when necessary. This provision ensures that delays in fund allocation do not hinder the immediate release of the allowance.

Initial List of Schools Division Offices with Released Medical Allowance

As of this writing, the following Schools Division Offices (SDOs) have already processed and released the medical allowance:

• SDO Camarines Norte
• SDO Zamboanga Sibugay (Olutanga District)

DepEd is expected to continue rolling out the release across other divisions nationwide as part of its commitment to supporting the health and welfare of its personnel.
