Good News from DBM: ₱7.372 Billion Released to Complete FY 2025 Service Recognition Incentives for Education Workers
The national government has moved to reinforce its commitment to educators following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call to further strengthen assistance for teachers and education personnel across the country.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released an additional ₱7.372 billion to settle the remaining cash requirement for the FY 2025 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of qualified teaching and non-teaching employees nationwide. This latest release completes the total funding needed to fully pay the incentive for the fiscal year.
DBM Secretary Rolando U. Toledo approved the issuance of the corresponding Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) on January 27, 2026, paving the way for the final disbursement of the incentive to all eligible beneficiaries. The approval marks the culmination of the government’s efforts to ensure that education workers receive the full amount due to them under the SRI program.
Recognizing Service in the Education Sector
The Service Recognition Incentive is a performance-based benefit granted to government personnel who have met established criteria, serving as a tangible acknowledgment of their dedication and contributions. For the education sector, the incentive recognizes the vital role of both teaching and non-teaching staff in sustaining learning delivery, school operations, and education reforms.
With the release of the remaining funds, agencies may now proceed with the uninterrupted payment of the incentive, ensuring that no eligible personnel are left out.
Boosting Morale and Public Service Performance
The completion of the FY 2025 SRI funding reflects the administration’s emphasis on valuing frontline public servants, particularly educators who play a central role in shaping the nation’s future. By prioritizing the timely and full release of incentives, the government seeks to uplift morale, encourage high performance, and promote accountability in the public education system.
DBM officials noted that the release also demonstrates sound fiscal planning and the government’s responsiveness to the needs of its workforce. Investing in educators, they emphasized, is an investment in national development, as teachers and education staff remain key drivers of human capital formation and inclusive growth.
