Local government units in different parts of the Philippines have announced class suspensions for Monday, January 19, 2026, citing post-festival considerations and adverse weather conditions. The affected areas are as follows:
Governor Pamela Baricuatro ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in public schools under provincial jurisdiction. The decision was made in consideration of the large number of students who participated in the 2026 Sinulog Festival.
The class suspension is intended to give students time to rest and to travel home safely after the weekend festivities. In addition, Capitol employees who worked during the Sinulog celebrations are granted a compensatory day off on the same date.
Face-to-face classes at all levels remain suspended throughout the municipality due to the effects of Tropical Depression ADA. Local authorities emphasized that the suspension aims to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel amid potentially hazardous weather conditions.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to continue monitoring official announcements from their respective local government units for any updates or further advisories.
