Concerns continue to mount among public school teachers and personnel regarding the unpaid balances of the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for Fiscal Year 2025. In response to these concerns, Sir Benjo Basas, Chairman of the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC), publicly shared an update based on a recent exchange with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
DBM’s Response
According to the message shared by Sir Benjo Basas, the DBM acknowledged the delay and provided clarification on the current status of the unpaid SRI balances for personnel of the Department of Education (DepEd).
In its response, the DBM stated that it has been closely coordinating with DepEd Central Office regarding the matter. As of the previous week, DBM was informed that DepEd is still consolidating the unpaid SRI balances on its end. This consolidation process is a prerequisite before DepEd can formally transmit the complete and verified details to DBM for further action.
Priority Once Details Are Submitted
The DBM further assured that the issue is being monitored closely. Once the consolidated list and supporting details of unpaid balances are officially received from DepEd, the matter will be tagged as a priority for processing. This assurance signals that no additional bottlenecks are expected from the DBM side once documentation is complete.
What This Means for DepEd Personnel
While the update does not yet provide a definitive release date for the remaining SRI 2025 balances, it confirms that the delay is primarily procedural and related to internal consolidation by DepEd. Teachers and other DepEd personnel may take some reassurance from DBM’s statement that the matter remains under active monitoring and will be expedited upon receipt of the required information.
