In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Domagoso confirmed the release of the funds, emphasizing the city government’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations to teachers despite ongoing financial challenges.
According to the mayor, the teachers received their allowances yesterday, a benefit he said the city continues to honor even while facing fiscal strain. He pointed out that the local government remains burdened by numerous financial obligations inherited from the previous administration.
“Natanggap na kahapon ng ating mga kaguruan sa pampublikong paaralan ang kanilang teachers’ allowance para sa May at June 2025—isang benepisyong patuloy nating tinutupad kahit gipit ang lungsod sa pananalapi,” Domagoso wrote.
He acknowledged the city’s tight budget situation but assured the public that City Hall is working to steadily restore Manila’s financial stability. Domagoso also appealed for understanding from residents as the administration implements measures to strengthen the city’s fiscal standing.
“Hindi natin tatalikuran ang obligasyon natin sa mga guro, gagawa tayo ng paraan para sila ay may mapagharimunan,” he added.
The mayor also extended his gratitude to Manila’s public school teachers for their continued dedication, compassion, and daily sacrifices for the youth.
“Mga guro ng Maynila, salamat sa inyong tiyaga, malasakit, at araw-araw na sakripisyo para sa mga Batang Maynila!” he said.
The allowance distribution is part of the city’s ongoing support for educators as the school year progresses, ensuring that teachers receive the benefits due to them despite existing fiscal constraints.
