WALANG PASOK, Class Suspensions (October 20-24, 2025)

Here are the areas in the country which have declared suspension of face to face classes on October 20-24, 2025 in all levels, both public and private schools.

Laguna Province: The governor ordered suspension of face-to-face classes from October 14 to 31 for all levels (public and private). 

Mandaue City, Cebu: October 20-24, 2025 to give students and families more time to cope with the recent earthquake episodes and to ensure everyone’s continued safety.

Meanwhile, several local government units (LGUs) in the Philippines have announced class suspensions or shifts to alternative delivery modes (ADM) for Monday, October 20, as Tropical Storm Ramil (#RamilPH) continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds across parts of Luzon and Visayas.

-Municipality of Magalang – (October 20, 2025) Classes are suspended in ALL LEVELS, public and private schools, in Magalang due to heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm “Ramil.”

Tarlac

-San Clemente - no face-to-face classes, all levels, public and private; shift to alternative learning modules

Cavite province - all levels, public and private

Quezon

• Lucena City – (October 20-22, 2025) Face-to-face classes at all levels, public and private, in Lucena City are suspended due to the rising cases of influenza virus. Online classes will continue as scheduled.

Cavite

• Carmona – All levels, public and private
  In a local advisory, the Carmona LGU announced a full suspension of classes due to persistent rains and safety concerns brought by the storm.

Rizal

• Montalban (Rodriguez) – Face-to-face classes only, all levels (public & private)
  Schools will shift to alternative delivery modes (ADM) such as online or modular learning to continue academic instruction while minimizing exposure to weather hazards.

Cebu

-Municipality of Compostela - Classes in all levels are suspended October 20, 2025 Monday until further notice DUE TO THE CONTINUOUS TREMORS CAUSED BY THE RECENT EARTHQUAKE.

-Lapu-Lapu City – Face-to-face classes only, public schools, extended until October 25

The city’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported that several barangays are still affected by heavy rains, prompting the extension of the suspension. Public schools will continue ADM, while private schools were advised to follow their respective guidelines.

Surigao Del Sur

• Municipality of Madrid – All classes, both public and private, are suspended on Monday, October 20, 2025 -  until further notice. This suspension allows for safety inspections, damage assessments, and ensures that our students and staff remain protected.

Furthermore, shifting to alternative learning modes (online, modular, remote) is common during these suspension periods.
