Teachers and education personnel may soon receive long-awaited updates on their Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for 2023, as new developments surface from the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC).
TDC Confirms Ongoing Coordination with DBM
According to Benjo Basas, Chairman of the TDC, their group remains in constant communication with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) regarding the release of the PBB for fiscal year 2023. Basas shared the update on his official Facebook account, assuring teachers that the coalition continues to follow up on the matter closely.
DBM Now Accepting DepEd’s Form 1.0
Basas revealed that the DBM is now accepting Form 1.0 submissions from the Department of Education (DepEd). This document serves as the primary requirement for validating eligibility for the release of the bonus. Once the forms are verified and validated, the DBM will proceed with the release of funds corresponding to qualified personnel.
What This Means for Teachers
The acceptance of Form 1.0 is seen as a positive step forward in the long process of releasing the PBB. Teachers and DepEd employees have been eagerly awaiting updates, as the PBB serves as a performance incentive for government workers who meet specific evaluation criteria under the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS).
Although there is no exact release date yet, the latest communication indicates that the process is moving forward — a sign that the bonus may soon reach eligible recipients once validation is completed.
