MANILA, Philippines — Teachers and non-teaching personnel of the Department of Education (DepEd) may soon receive their Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for 2023, according to an update shared by Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC) Chairperson Benjo Basas.
In a recent Facebook post, Basas shared that he had spoken with an official from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) regarding the status of the long-awaited incentive. The DBM official confirmed that the Technical Working Group (TWG) has already convened and approved the eligibility of DepEd for the 2023 PBB.
The official also noted that the final eligibility assessment report is now being prepared. Once issued, the report will guide DepEd in completing Form 1.0, which lists eligible personnel for the incentive. This list will then become the basis for the release of funds.
The TDC chair assured teachers that his group continues to monitor developments on the PBB distribution and to coordinate with concerned agencies for timely updates.
The PBB is a performance-based incentive granted annually to government employees based on the overall performance of their agency and individual accomplishments. Delays in the release of the bonus have been a recurring concern among DepEd personnel in previous years.
