Senator Bong Go Files Senate Bill No. 410 to Grant Monthly Allowance to Public Education Personnel

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go has filed Senate Bill No. 410, titled the "Across-the-board Monthly Allowance for All Basic Education Teachers Act of 2025," to provide a regular monthly allowance to all public school teaching and non-teaching personnel, including those in Alternative Learning Systems (ALS) and distance learning.

Go emphasized the crucial role of educators in national development and highlighted the hardships they face—such as overcrowded classrooms, out-of-pocket expenses, and long hours. The proposed allowance is additional to their current salaries and benefits and will be factored into retirement and bonus computations.

"Malaki ang aking pasasalamat sa mga teachers. Hindi ako magiging senador kung hindi ako natuto noon. Dumaan ako sa mga guro na mga mababait, nagmamalasakit sa kabataan at patuloy na nagseserbisyo sa bayan kung kaya't may natutunan ako... Maraming salamat sa inyong pagserbisyo," he affirmed.

The bill is part of Go’s broader advocacy to support educators and improve education. He also reaffirmed support for laws like the Free Tertiary Education Act, No Permit, No Exam Prohibition Act, and the Alternative Learning System Act, among others.

As chair of the Senate Youth Committee and member of education-related committees, Go stressed that education is vital to shaping the country’s future, and the welfare of educators must be a state priority.
