DBM Issues Notice of Cash Allocation for ₱10,000 Teaching Allowance

The Department of Budget and Management (DepEd) has already started the issuance of the Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) for the ₱10,000 Teaching Allowance designated for public school teachers for School Year 2025–2026. This allowance, established under Republic Act No. 11997 or the "Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act," aims to support educators in procuring essential teaching materials and covering incidental expenses related to various learning modalities.

While the NCA issuance marks a significant step forward, the actual disbursement of funds to teachers has not yet commenced. The release process involves subsequent steps, including fund downloading to regional offices and processing by Schools Division Offices (SDOs). DepEd has outlined that eligible recipients encompass not only classroom teachers but also guidance counselors, school librarians, industrial arts or vocational instructors, and personnel performing supervisory or administrative functions in public schools, as well as Alternative Learning System (ALS) and Mobile Teachers, and District ALS Coordinators.

The ₱10,000 allowance is intended to alleviate the financial burden on teachers by covering expenses necessary for delivering quality education, such as purchasing teaching supplies and materials, and supporting various learning delivery modes. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to recognizing and valuing the dedication of public school teachers.
