Lawmaker pushes for at least P30,000 to P35,000 minimum basic salary of entry-level teachers

A lawmaker has filed a House bill that aims to increase the minimum basic salary of entry-level public school teachers in the country.

Pangasinan Representative Rose Marie "Baby" J. Arenas filed House Bill 4495 seeking to provide at least P30,000 to P35,000 minimum basic salary for entry-level public school teachers, technical vocational instructors, and higher education teaching personnel.

"Providing teachers with the right incentives to encourage them to remain in the noblest profession of educating and molding our young people to become behaviourally better and productive citizens of the country", Arenas said in the explanatory note.
