Teachers don't need to buy laptops - DepEd

As the opening of classes for the school year 2020-2021 is just around the corner, many students and teachers are now finding ways to face the challenges in the new normal in education. This includes purchasing gadgets, especially laptops, to comply with the online learning modality offered by the Department of Education.

DepEd, however, emphasized that there is no such need at the moment for the teachers to purchase gadgets or laptops despite the online learning modality that may be offered at the start of the school year.

“The beauty of our approach is that we have options available for everyone. Hindi lamang para sa may laptop, o may cellphone ang bagong school year,” DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua said.

Public school teachers may borrow and use the government-issued ICT equipment in their school to support them in their duties as stated in the DepEd Memorandum from the office of the Undersecretary.
