Possible Postponement of Card Giving and PTC Due to Delays in Updated DepEd Forms

The ACT NCR Union has raised concerns with the Department of Education (DepEd) regarding the possible postponement of the scheduled card giving and Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) as teachers continue to wait for updated versions of official school forms and electronic class records.

According to the group, it has already brought the matter to the attention of the DepEd Regional Office (RO) and Central Office (CO), citing difficulties faced by teachers in completing grades and other required records in time for the scheduled distribution of learners' progress reports.

The concern comes as DepEd continues to introduce updates to the School Form 9 (SF9) and Electronic Class Records (E-Class Records). These files are essential tools used by teachers in recording, computing, and finalizing learners' grades before the preparation and release of report cards.

With the Card Day scheduled on September 9, 2026, under the DepEd school calendar, the remaining preparation period has become increasingly limited. Teachers need sufficient time not only to accomplish the updated E-Class Records but also to verify grades, complete the required school forms, prepare SF9 report cards, and ensure that all records are accurate before they are released to parents and learners.

The ACT NCR Union said it is hoping for a positive response from DepEd regarding its request for possible adjustments to the schedule.

“We’ve already raised our concern with the RO and CO regarding the possible postponement of the card giving and PTC. Hoping for a positive response,” the group stated in its post.

The issue highlights the need to balance compliance with newly updated DepEd forms and systems with the actual time available for teachers to accomplish them. Any delay in the release or finalization of official templates can consequently affect the timeline for grade computation and preparation of report cards.

As of the group's latest statement, the matter has been raised with the concerned DepEd offices, but teachers and schools are still awaiting an official response regarding whether the September 9 Card Day and PTC schedule will be retained or adjusted.

Teachers, parents, and school administrators are therefore advised to wait for an official announcement from DepEd or their respective regional, division, and school authorities before considering any change in the scheduled card distribution and Parent-Teacher Conference.
