The Term 1 Examination Materials for Key Stage 2 learners in Grades 4–6 are developed as supplementary assessment resources that teachers may use in evaluating learner progress at the end of the first term. These materials are guided by DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, which provides the revised framework for classroom assessment under the three-term school calendar.
For learners in Key Stage 2, the examination is designed to check not only recently acquired knowledge and skills but also important competencies introduced earlier in the term that remain essential for continued learning.
Examination Coverage
The assessment mainly focuses on the competencies taught during Weeks 7–11 of Term 1. It may also revisit selected essential and critical competencies from the preceding weeks to determine whether learners can recall, understand, and apply previously learned concepts.
The content of each examination is patterned after the Term 1 Budget of Work (BOW) and should correspond with the lessons actually completed in the classroom. Since teaching pace and accomplished competencies may vary, teachers should verify the coverage before using the materials.
40-Item Multiple-Choice Tests for Grades 4–6
Each subject included in these DepEdClick Term 1 Examination Materials consists of 40 multiple-choice questions:
Grade 4 – 40 items per subject
Grade 5 – 40 items per subject
Grade 6 – 40 items per subject
The test questions are prepared with Bloom’s Taxonomy as a reference so that learners encounter tasks involving different levels of cognitive demand. Depending on the competency being assessed, questions may require learners to remember information, demonstrate understanding, apply concepts, or analyze situations.
The 40-item format is not presented as a mandatory number of examination questions prescribed by DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026. Rather, it is the standard format adopted for these DepEdClick materials. Teachers may revise the number, wording, difficulty, or coverage of the questions when necessary to better match the needs of their learners.
Before administering the examination, teachers are encouraged to review every item and make appropriate adjustments based on their actual instructional coverage, class pacing, learner readiness, and local school context. These materials are meant to assist classroom assessment while preserving the teacher’s professional judgment in determining what is most suitable for the learners.
