Ready-Made Daily Lesson Logs (DLLs) for Key Stage 3, covering Grades 7 to 10, are developed to help junior high school teachers prepare organized, competency-based, and learner-centered lessons for Term 1: Week 4, July 6–10, 2026. These instructional guides are crafted following the I.L.A.W. Framework of the Department of Education to support a clear, purposeful, and engaging flow of teaching and learning.
At the Key Stage 3 level, learners are expected to demonstrate deeper understanding, stronger analytical thinking, improved communication skills, and greater independence in learning. Since junior high school lessons often require higher levels of discussion, application, evaluation, and reflection, teachers need lesson guides that can help them manage content effectively while keeping learners actively involved in the learning process.
The I.L.A.W. Framework provides a structured approach to lesson delivery. It guides teachers in introducing concepts, activating prior knowledge, facilitating meaningful learning activities, allowing learners to apply new ideas, and checking their understanding through appropriate assessment tasks. Through this framework, lessons become more systematic, interactive, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners.
These Ready-Made DLLs are intended to assist teachers in planning daily classroom instruction across various learning areas. They include important lesson components such as learning objectives, content standards, performance standards, learning competencies, materials, instructional procedures, assessment, and reflection. With these guides, teachers can save preparation time while ensuring that the lessons remain aligned with the curriculum and the expected learning outcomes.
For Grades 7 to 10, classroom activities should encourage learners to analyze information, explain concepts, solve problems, make connections, collaborate with peers, and express their ideas clearly. The I.L.A.W.-based DLLs support these learning experiences by providing opportunities for guided discussions, individual and group tasks, formative assessments, performance-based activities, and reflective learning.
The Ready-Made DLLs also help teachers maintain consistency in lesson planning while allowing room for adjustment and contextualization. Teachers may modify the activities, examples, questions, and assessment tasks based on the learners’ readiness, interests, local context, and available learning resources. This flexibility is important in making instruction more meaningful and inclusive for junior high school learners.
