879,533 Public School Teachers to Receive Voice Lapels, Angara Announces

A total of 879,533 public school teachers are set to receive voice lapel devices through the support of the Office of the President Social Fund, Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara announced.

According to Angara, the devices are intended to make classroom instruction easier and safer by helping teachers speak clearly without having to strain or raise their voices throughout the school day.

“Hindi na kailangang pilitin ang kanilang boses sa araw-araw na pagtuturo,” Angara said in a social media post.

The DepEd chief thanked President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for continuing to support programs that promote the health and welfare of teachers.

Voice lapels can help amplify a teacher’s voice during classroom discussions, allowing learners to hear instructions more clearly while reducing the risk of vocal fatigue among educators. The equipment may be especially useful in large classes, noisy learning environments, and classrooms where teachers regularly conduct extended discussions.

Angara described the device as a simple piece of equipment that could make a significant contribution to teachers’ well-being.

He emphasized that protecting teachers’ health would allow them to focus more effectively on their primary responsibility—educating and preparing Filipino learners for the future.

Further details regarding the distribution schedule, allocation per region or school division, and procedures for receiving the devices are expected to be released by the Department of Education.
