The Updated E-Class Record for Grades 4–10 is designed to align with the latest DepEd Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition. This updated tool ensures that assessment practices are consistent, fair, and focused on improving learner outcomes across all subject areas.
It covers both core academic subjects and skill-based learning areas, providing teachers with a unified system for recording, computing, and interpreting student performance.
Subjects Covered in the E-Class Record
The updated E-Class Record is applicable to the following learning areas:
Core Academic Subjects
- Araling Panlipunan (AP)

Technical and Skills-Based Subjects
- Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP)

Holistic Development Subjects

Because of this wide coverage, the E-Class Record supports both academic learning and practical skill development.
Standardized Assessment Components
The updated grading system follows three main components:
- Written Works (WW) – quizzes, tests, and written outputs
- Performance Tasks (PT) – projects, demonstrations, and applied skills
- Summative Tests and Exams (ST/TE) – quarterly assessments
For most subjects, performance tasks carry the highest weight, highlighting the importance of application and real-world learning.
Numerical Grades with Qualitative Descriptors
One of the key improvements in the updated system is the use of qualitative descriptors alongside numerical grades.
- 90–100: Advancing
- 80–89: Benchmarking
- 75–79: Connecting
- 65–74: Developing
- Below 65: Emerging
This approach helps teachers, learners, and parents better understand the level of mastery achieved.
Disclaimer: These E-Class Records are not officially issued or released by the Department of Education (DepEd). They are independently developed and carefully designed based on the updated guidelines on classroom assessment and grading system for the three-term school calendar.
