April 9, 2026 — Several Schools Division Offices (SDOs) have been reported to have already credited the medical allowance based on an update listing divisions where the benefit had reportedly been posted.

The medical allowance is intended to help DepEd personnel address their health and wellness needs, particularly expenses related to preventive care, consultations, basic treatment, and other medical concerns. As government employees carrying out essential public service, teachers and non-teaching staff benefit from added support that can help ease the financial burden of healthcare costs.

For many education workers, the allowance serves as a form of assistance that promotes physical well-being while recognizing the demands of their profession. Teachers, in particular, often manage heavy workloads, classroom responsibilities, and administrative tasks, making health support an important part of maintaining their capacity to serve learners effectively.

More than a financial benefit, the medical allowance also reflects the importance of safeguarding the welfare of DepEd personnel. Ensuring that teachers and school employees have access to health-related support contributes not only to their personal well-being, but also to the overall delivery of quality education in schools and communities.
