The long-anticipated Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for 2025 has moved a step closer to approval after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) formally transmitted a request—along with a draft Administrative Order—to Malacañang for the incentive’s issuance.
This development was shared by Sir Benjo Basas, Chairperson of the Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC), in his latest Facebook update, offering assurance to government workers who have been awaiting news about this year’s SRI amid budget uncertainties.
Government “Able to Grant” SRI, Basas Says
According to Basas, the DBM’s move signals that the government has the fiscal capacity to release the incentive, contrary to earlier concerns that tightening budgets might affect this year’s distribution.
He emphasized that the SRI has become a regular annual benefit for eligible government employees since its introduction in 2019, and there is strong precedent for its continued release.
“This is a clear indication that the government is able and willing to provide the incentive,” Basas noted, expressing optimism that the Office of the President will act on the request soon.
