New Teacher Salary Rates Effective January 1, 2026


The Department of Education (DepEd) is set to implement higher salary rates for its teaching personnel beginning January 1, 2026, in line with the third tranche of adjustments under the Salary Standardization Law (SSL) mandated by Executive Order No. 64, s. 2024. These increases apply to teachers across all levels—from Teacher I to Master Teacher IV—and reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the welfare, motivation, and retention of educators nationwide.

Salary Grades of Teachers I–VII

DepEd’s teaching career line consists of seven levels, each assigned a corresponding Salary Grade (SG). Beginning January 2026, these positions will follow the updated classification:

  • Teacher I – SG 11
  • Teacher II – SG 12
  • Teacher III – SG 13
  • Teacher IV – SG 14
  • Teacher V – SG 15
  • Teacher VI – SG 16
  • Teacher VII – SG 17

These levels represent progressive increases in qualifications, responsibilities, and competency expectations, with salary adjustments reflecting those advancements.

Salary Grades of Master Teachers I–IV

The Master Teacher track serves as DepEd’s expert-level and instructional leadership pathway. The following Salary Grades apply:

  • Master Teacher I – SG 18
  • Master Teacher II – SG 19
  • Master Teacher III – SG 20
  • Master Teacher IV – SG 21

Master Teachers play a crucial role in mentoring fellow teachers, leading instructional innovations, and uplifting teaching quality within schools.

Estimated Monthly Salaries (Step 1) Effective January 1, 2026

Based on the projected 2026 SSL salary table, the Step 1 monthly salaries for each position are estimated as follows:

Teachers I–VII

  • SG 11 – ₱31,705
  • SG 12 – ₱33,947
  • SG 13 – ₱36,125
  • SG 14 – ₱38,764
  • SG 15 – ₱42,178
  • SG 16 – ₱45,694
  • SG 17 – ₱49,562

Master Teachers I–IV

  • SG 18 – ₱53,818
  • SG 19 – ₱59,153
  • SG 20 – ₱66,052
  • SG 21 – ₱73,303
