DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2025: Multi-Year Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities

The Department of Education (DepEd) has released DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2025, titled "Multi-Year Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities," to provide a structured framework for academic years starting from 2025–2026. This order aims to enhance the management of school operations and ensure the efficient implementation of educational activities across the country.

Key Features of the Guidelines

1. Standardized Academic Calendar: The order establishes a uniform academic calendar for all public elementary and secondary schools, including Community Learning Centers (CLCs). Private institutions are encouraged to align with these guidelines to maintain consistency in educational delivery nationwide.
2. Optimized Instructional Time: Emphasizing the importance of maximizing contact time between teachers and students, the guidelines aim to ensure the achievement of prescribed learning standards. This includes structured schedules for formative and summative assessments, as well as designated periods for enrichment activities. 
3. Health and Well-being Considerations: In line with the MATATAG Agenda, the order underscores the significance of the health, safety, and well-being of both learners and educators. Provisions are made to create a conducive learning environment, taking into account potential disruptions such as natural disasters or health emergencies. 
4. Technical Assistance and Monitoring: Schools Division Offices (SDOs) and Regional Offices (ROs) are tasked with providing technical assistance and conducting regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure compliance with the guidelines and to support continuous improvement in school operations. 

DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2025, takes effect upon its approval and publication on the official DepEd website. All concerned offices and institutions are directed to disseminate and implement the guidelines accordingly.
