A group of teachers held a different way of protest last February 16, 2021, in front of DepEd's office in Quezon City, this time in a form of dance.
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Philippines protested for the payment of long overdue Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) 2019, Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) 2020, and other allowances. The group has demanded a dialogue to serve these complaints.
ACT Secretary-General Raymond Basilio has also expressed the sacrifices being given by the teachers in the implementation of distance learning. He said that teachers even spend and use their personal resources just to deliver the education to their learners.
The group also stressed that the salary adjustment effective January 2021 is now also added to the long list of promises that DepEd is yet to deliver.
