GOOD NEWS! Internet Allowance for Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel
The Department of Education is now pushing to include the monthly internet allowance for the teaching and non-teaching personnel as support to the implementation of the department's learning continuity plan at this time of the pandemic.
DepEd Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla urged the House of Representatives on Tuesday to favor this provision so that teachers will be able to implement blended learning more efficiently.
“We are just complying with whatever would be authorized as an allowance kasi meron din batas dito kagaya ng Salary Standardization Law na in-enumerate kung ano lang ang valid allowances,” Sevilla said.
Sevilla said that the suggested monthly internet allowance for teachers would be from P350 to P500. But they will still need to have a consultation regarding this matter.
“For now, ang inuuna namin humingi ng authorization from DBM and the COA kasi ang policy na ganito ay kailangan mag-emanate from them,” Sevilla added.
