The Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) has sent a letter to the Department of Education asking to grant the public school teachers a 25% overtime pay as they were required to work during an extended school year brought by the pandemic.
The letter cited Article 87 of the Labor Code which states that the employer must give additional pay of 25% of the employee's daily wage if he or she has been required to work more than the prescribed working hours.
