Eligibility to receive the P5,000 cash allowance for public school teachers for SY 2021-2022


With the recent announcement of the Department of Education, public school teachers are set to receive their cash allowance for the school year 2021-2022 amounting to P5,000.

However, not all public school teachers are entitled to receive this cash allowance.

Public school teachers who are in service in the Department as of the official first day of the school year up to 30 calendar days after the start of SY is entitled to full cash allowance, while teachers whose assumption to duty is beyond 30 days after the school year will be entitled to a pro-rata basis.

Those who assume duty within the first 30 days will receive 100% of allowance amounting to P5000; 80% or P4000 for those after the first 30 days but not more than 90 days; 50 % or P2500 for those after 90 days but not more than 150 days; and 20% or P1000 for those after 150 days until the end of the school year.

Meanwhile, public school teachers with no teaching load, absence without leave, who are on an indefinite leave of absence, maternity leave, study leave, guilty of any offense in connection with their work, and those who no longer in service as of the official start of the school year is not entitled to the grant of the cash allowance.
